Since it’s inception, Mar Y Lana has been striving to source organic cotton. But I didn’t just want any cotton. I didn’t want cotton shipped half way around the world or cotton that was grown using harsh chemicals. So finally after 5 years of ups and downs, thinking I had found something ethical and sustainable, and being let down because of one reason or another, I have found Colombian grown organic cotton! This cotton is naturally dyed using plants and woven by a female collective of incredibility resourceful women. I just got my first samples this past weekend and my heart races with excitement each time I glance and the rack of samples in my living room! I cannot wait to share this goodness with you and am confident you will love it just as much as I do! Thank you for being in this journey with me and supporting these artisans. I hope you understand the incredible impact YOU are making with each Mar Y Lana purchased you make.

Perspective is everything and for better or worse I have always had Colombia as a point of perspective. During the age of Corona things in Colombia are incredibly intense. Men are allowed out of the house certain days of the week and women others. Their lock down has been extended and the rural communities that rely on tourism are suffering the most. You purchase means more now than ever. We have shifted our giveback model for the time being in to cash donations to our artisans. For every purchase we will donate cash instead of a poncho. Thank you so much for you support during these difficult times and we look forward to moving ahead with our projects and new collection.
