" God Bless Jeff Beck "
I like many others were surprised and saddened to hear of the recent passing of guitar legend Jeff Beck.
Mr. Beck was one of my initial influences that in my later years I returned to, rediscovering after he started playing his signature Stratocaster almost exclusively and developed his volume swell, harmonic and tremolo arm unique style and technique.
To follow his playing from it's beginning with the Yardbirds to his " Blow by Blow and Wired" albums all the way to his " Live at Ronnie Scotts" album leaves most musicians as it did I in complete awe of his abilities and one of a kind unmistakable sound that was always evolving into what we know it to be today.
I had originally recorded this short instrumental over twenty-five years ago and recently had placed it on my " 817 Marlborough Ave." instrumental EP, my tribute was inspired by him after his wired album and it's direct influence on me being inspired by his song " Led Boots. "
This many years before his " Performing Live at Ronnie Scotts " album as a tribute to his influence on me before what is now recognized as his " Sound."
I've out of respect for Mr. Beck's untimely passing changed its previous title to " In Memory and Tribute of Jeff Beck."
God Bless Mr. Beck, his family and personal Friends along with his multi-generational legion of Fans, the music world has truly lost an Iconic figure and an actual Legend, RIP Jeff Beck.
