"My Deborah Story"
I first started taking sunrise pictures every day in March of 2010. One day when I was on the beach, a beautiful stranger came up to me and asked if I was the person taking the photographs she saw every day on Facebook. I told her yes and she thanked me and asked that I keep posting the pictures because this would probably be her last trip to the beach. She went on to tell me
she had terminal cancer and that my pictures brightened her day and made her feel better. I told her that I would keep posting the pictures and thanked her. We became good friends over the years and I knew how much the sunrise pictures meant to her. Since that time Deborah has lost her battle with cancer, but because of that chance meeting I have always tried to get up to witness and photograph the sunrise for those who are unable to experience it themselves. Deborah was always so thankful for the time she had and found so much beauty in everything despite her diagnosis. I think of Deborah often, and I wonder why no one is out on the beach at that early hour of sunrise, but then I smile and remember that Deborah is always with me. Deborah was an incredibly beautiful person that fought a hard battle. It was and still is my honor to be able to take pictures for her and anyone else that can't get to the beach to see the sunrise. Through the years, I have received many requests to purchase some of my work so I have finally put together some of my most requested photographs, seaglass artwork and candle holders for sale. I hope you enjoy having them in your homes as much as I have enjoyed watching the sunrise and taking the photos.
