If you would have told me, a couple years ago, that I’d be a mother this year AND I would be exclusively breastfeeding our baby, I wouldn’t have believed you. My fertility journey was a long and winding road that concluded with our darling girl, Tallulah Rose. In light of the struggles, however, I assumed breastfeeding would also be difficult for me and our petal. We got pumps, bottles and everything in between preparing ourselves for all the alternatives. Lo and behold, breastfeeding is the easiest hard thing I’ve ever done! I’m going to say that again…. The EASIEST HARD thing. It fills my cup knowing that her and I can work together and my body provides all of her nourishment. It’s a round the clock commitment and even at my lowest moments, feeding her brings me back to my center. A special thankyou to my darling husband for always ensuring I’m hydrated & well nourished. For without him and his support, it would be nearly impossible! The 16th of this month will mark 6 months exclusively breastfeeding our petal and I will happily continue knowing in my heart this was all meant to be. For that I am thankful! For all of the mommas out there… a few things I wish I listened to before my journey began… don’t worry about the onlookers, only focus on the positive kind people who are supportive, and never be afraid to reach out to others for guidance! At the end of the day, the only thing that matters, is your sweet baby & you! Lastly, If at first you don’t succeed, try try again… and again… and hydrate!!
