Marked OB and 10K and BEST OF ALL IS THE MALTESE CROSS, which is from the jewelers Ostby Barton, and what makes these rings so collectable and romantic is that Mr Ostby perished on the Titanic, and his PERSONAL TRADEMARK was the addition of the Maltese cross which this one DOES have. His daughter Helene was also on the ill fated ship but survived and kept her father’s company going until the 1950s. This ring is assumed to be created before 1912 by Mr Ostby himself, and their company was started in the late 1800s and very well know and respected in the USA. Do a google about the Ostby Barton jewelers and their story and see how FEW the ones with the Maltese cross are...so this is a true treasure!
