Stuff we love: it’s no secret that we love our local bands. Oakland can boast a musical landscape that is diverse, exciting, and brimming with unsung talent. Among that lot sits Trough who just dropped their third (I think) full length album titled “Crise de Foie” and it’s a killer for sure. Skronked out Noise Rock with enough hooks and variety to keep it interesting. Trough would have sat nicely amongst the giants of Am Rep, Matador, Touch &Go and Alternative Tentacle’s rosters in the early 90s. But don’t take my word for it, come pick this up and hear for yourself. Damn, I’m proud to call Oakland home.-Aesop
