Items finished this week include a serving board and a natural edge cherry wall clock. These items will be donated to the auction at St.John’s Summer Sizzle that will be held next Saturday at the Mount Grove Community Center beginning at 5 PM. There will be lots of food, ice cream, the band Pickin Empty Pockets, the Chinese auction and more. See you there.

A maple serving board I really like. This one is being donated to Horizon Academy for their dinner theater production of “Casting Call” this weekend at the Pleasant Valley Community Center. Got in the cherry Burl mood this week. I had a friend give me a Burl with the limb attached and say it looked interesting. It turned into some kind of dipper or ladle. I bet you can’t find another one of these😜. The other is a 6 1/2 inch Burl bowl with everything you would expect from a Burl. The garden is doing well and the Good Lord willing we may have squash and zucchini available in a week or two.

Just finished a heavy duty stainless steel pizza cutter with a black walnut handle. I turned my first Bradford pear bowl and I think the colors are unique. I do expect the lighter color to turn a more honey brown as it ages. Speaking of aging, this black walnut and cherry cutting board keeps getting prettier as it ages. I really like it. These will be at the stand on pretty days and will be on the website soon.

Lots happening today. Maybe my favorite board yet with cherry, mahogany, and black walnut. I am tired of buying overpriced board treatment for cutting and serving boards so I am making my own from beeswax, food safe mineral oil, and food safe essential oils. AND the roadside shop is back open today and will be open on nice days that we don’t have grandchildren ball games to attend. Sorry, they come first. You can always message to see if we are open and our online shop is always open with the same prices that are at the stand. Have a great day!

New items and all are available. A live edge cherry serving board with a favorite two horse engraving. A small 10x14 cutting board with feet to keep the board steady on the counter. A small 6x11 kitchen chopping board or bread board. This one does not have feet but they could be added.
