After reading the latest attack on my community membera and friends, I spent the afternoon alternating between sobbing, reaching out to friends and community members, and rage napping. I worked on homework for a total of 7 hours today. I reached a reasonable stopping point, and made the call. I'm making something with my new glitter. Pretty disappointing.

Hello all! I wanted to give a little update since we've had so many new visitors to the page since joining the CBFM and being at Summerfest. Btw, I plan to be at CBFM through the end of June. I am currently in grad school and will start teaching MS & HS Spanish in the fall. Summer classes are abbreviated, so my studio time has been drastically reduced. I'm working on a few commissions now, and I'll update with a whole bunch of new wands and jars very soon. I made some pretties!! Here is a sneak peak of a beauty I pulled from its mold this morning. I ♡ it!

There are a few things which make me instantly ill. Seeing my printer cough these pages out is one of them. 13x19" nice photo paper on the highest quality print setting. one ran out of red ink, the other used up black. I had both of the new ink cartridges ready to go. Time to create a franken-sign.

Fighting the urge to mope today. Last night I was working on an assignment for my class, and had a total "this can't be real" moment. The assignment- to analyze and discuss trends in Hispanic/Latino Health statistics from the Office of Minority Health website. Except that the OMH website is GONE. I just have no words. I messaged my profe, and said, "OMH is gone. I can't believe I'm even typing this."
So, as with all moments when I've wanted to retreat to my blanket fort lately, I have been challenging myself to remember- "¡Échale ganas!" It means, "throw some life into it (give it your all.)" I've been immersed in my unit plan for Methods & Mgt for Secondary Ed - creating 10 lessons almost completely from scratch. Even got the sophomore stamp of approval for fun lesson plans. I'm saving the materials with the plan of putting them on TPT sometime.
So, "¡Échale ganas!" it is. Creating some fun branding stuff for spring. Stay tuned!

My name is Kelly and sometimes life makes me laugh. I was making this super cute spoon set for a bridal shower. I was trying to get just one more coat of butcher block oil on this spoon and truly gummed up the whole thing. Like, I've sanded this 8 times. I ruined it by rushing. The words?
"Take your thyme."
