Super proud of my kiddos, the MHS Percussion from Maryville High School. They never fail to rise to the occasion and get the job done.
A huge thanks to my friends at Artifact Percussion for supplying the best tools to help these kids succeed.

After, let’s say, a long and tedious week, I survived a debut with Mighty Blue and an outing with the Oak Ridge Community Band.
I changed out my hardware from the Tama Classic stands to the Yamaha Crosstown. Gotta say, I’m super impressed by it.
And as always, a huge THANK YOU to my friends at Artifact Percussion! Can’t say enough good things about them and their offerings for concert and combo gigs.

Had a fun time filling in with the Jag’s Jazz Quartet at the Oak Ridge Farmer’s Market.
Today was the 50th anniversary for the Market, so was cool to get to participate on that!

Am grateful to have had my son, Malachi, here in Tennessee for the last couple weeks. He was able to get some teaching experience with the MHS percussion pit for the last couple weeks.
And today, we spent the afternoon refurbishing his $20 thrift store Acrolite and his Pearl Phil snare.
Super proud of this kiddo - he starts college in a couple weeks at Missouri State, duel major in Music Ed and Jazz Performance.

Had another great weekend playing with the Southern Stars Brass Band.
Mostly timpani, but I did get to journey over to play some a chime and g***k part.

Custom slapstick for Burchfield Elementary.
Also, should thank the great folks at for the amazing wood iron.
