These vintage Japanese art books came in with their original sleeves—beautiful on their own—but when I slipped one off, there was black and white pattern across every cover. The black-and-white cover is very likely a variation of a traditional Japanese pattern called seigaiha - Consistent, graphic, almost architectural.

Two ways to live with them. Color and texture, or something more restrained.

I like both. How about you?

And the insides ——- full of color plates of historical art pieces.

27 books. Now listed on Chairish. I can deliver locally too.

April is always a funny one in retail—spring break, Easter…you blink and it’s over.

A lot of you keep showing up, again and again, and I don’t take that lightly. You’re the reason I push for a weekly refresh. I unpacked several new boxes yesterday—and there are some really good pieces in this round.

A few standouts:

• A Frederick Cooper walnut floor lamp with that deep, aged patina and beautiful grain—classic, grounded, just right.
• An Asian wine jug lamp—the characters on the front actually translate to “wine,” which makes it even better.
• And a robin’s egg blue Florentine vanity mirror that feels straight out of Italy.

There’s a lot more in the mix right now. Come by and take a look.

Someone once told me I like muddy colors. They weren’t wrong.

There’s a rhythm to sourcing—and mine always comes back to earthy tones - ochres, sienna, burgundy, forest green, chocolate brown - and rich textures and natural materials. When I trust that instinct, things move. When I don’t, they linger.

These new finds? Exactly where I like to be. Grounded. Textural. Natural. I hope you like them.

A woman came into the shop today and told me something that made me laugh.

She said she lived in Asia almost 50 years ago and shipped home furniture that she still uses today. Then she shrugged and said, “My kids don’t want any of it.”

I immediately thought… my daughter will probably say the exact same thing about me someday.

I’m currently scooting out of town to watch her play in a national volleyball qualifier, but before leaving I brought a few new pieces into the shop.

Some favorites that just arrived:
• a mid-century pagoda wall shelf
• emerald green tiger-pattern pillows
• two incredible Art Deco art books
• and lots of blue and white smalls

If you’re nearby, stop in and take a look.

Just in time for our Saturday sale, I refreshed my booth with some incredible new finds.

I added a collection of small art pieces that I think you’re really going to love. Among them are a few pieces I sourced in Italy, a set of framed botanicals from Brazil, and a set of four Buddha paintings from the early 20th century.

Two of my personal favorites this week are a Navajo rug in the Chinle pattern and an Art Deco pagoda rug that is truly something special.

Everything I brought in is included in the sale — 15% off this Saturday only. It happens just once a month, so if you’ve been waiting for the right piece, this is the time to come take a look.

Today I brought in a few pieces that feel considered. The kind that hold their own in a room.

An English clock face, circa 1790–1810.
Hand-painted on iron and steel in Cheshire, England.
Each corner represents one of the four continents.
Historic. Graphic. Completely compelling.

A Chippendale-style side chair by Century Furniture.
Strong lines. Classic proportion.
Beautiful at a desk or in a dressing room.

A two-panel wood screen.
Simple, architectural, and full of warmth.
It adds depth without overwhelming a room.

A shadowbox shell collection with that perfect vintage, beach-collected feel.
Layered and textural — nostalgic in the right way.

Aluminum trays with a black and white cane pattern.
That 1970s chinoiserie edge — graphic and bold.

Cream velvet lounge chairs — now $195 each.
Tailored, comfortable, and ready to place.

A few new additions to the floor.
They’re even better up close.

There’s something magical about how people traveled before planes, before iPhones, before instant photos.

These are antique stereoview cards of Pompeii, produced by Fratelli De Luca of Naples around 1890–1905 — right at the height of the Grand Tour era. Travelers would slip these into a handheld stereoscope and suddenly the ruins of Pompeii appeared in 3D. It was the virtual reality of 1900.

Each card captures the temples, columns, and quiet streets of Pompeii as they looked over a century ago. You can almost imagine a Victorian traveler bringing these home as proof and remembrance of a site seen.

I have a collection of ten of them, all beautifully preserved in their original yellow mounts, and I’ll be taking them down to Warehouse55 this week.

It’s such a cool little collection — a tangible piece of Italian travel history, frozen in time.

If you love European ephemera, Grand Tour romance, and stories layered into objects… these are special.

I’ve been quiet on IG… but never still.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been curating, editing, sourcing — layering pieces that feel storied and soulful.

Today I brought in a 1940s vanity with its original bench — that unmistakable French Directoire silhouette. Paired with a sculptural mid-century driftwood lamp, earthy raku pottery, and a French chinoiserie tapestry, the whole vignette feels grounded, global, and quietly dramatic.

Earth. Wood. Patina. Story.

Come take a look.

As the holiday countdown wraps up, a quick note: Warehouse 55 in Chicago will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We’ll be back and ready to welcome you on December 26, and my space will be 20% off starting that day. I just finished a full restock before heading out of town with family for a few days.

Since we’re traveling, we celebrated Christmas a bit early this year—and it was a truly special one. Feeling incredibly grateful and very blessed.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who showed up and shopped small this season. During a time that can feel uncertain, your support meant everything. Sending you so much love and wishing you a safe, cozy, and joyful holiday with the people you hold close.
