It's Giving Tuesday & we are supporting TWO Causes that are dear to our hearts.

~The Oak Park River Forest H.S. Knit and Crochet Club partnered with Dye Hard Yarns, is raising funds to craft hats and blankets for local newborns. Your contribution will not only provide much-needed warmth for infants but also support the growth of our student stitch club, currently with 60 members. ~The 2024 Bring the Warmth campaign is calling for your help during this winter season.
As temperatures drop, many are left without the basic items for warmth. We love you guys...
It's been 7yrs of ups and downs, of tears and struggles, of feeling defeated more times than I can count.
But it's also been 7yrs of laughter, of giving, of shared creativity & encouragement. Seven years of people young and old coming together within our little community. Makers learning and growing; making friends, making progress, and making a profound difference.

We get to share all that we are with you, as you share of yourselves with us. That is a privilege we do not take lightly, and I hope you know just how much that means to us.
Dye Hard couldn't exist without you. It just couldn't. You are the foundation on which we stand.

Let's do some very tangible good, shall we? 💜
Fall is here and Winter will arrive before we know it.
There are people who need our help to keep warm.

WHATS NEEDED: Socks, hats, gloves, scarves, cowls, blankets, wraps, sweaters, whatever you've got.
Knit it, crochet it, sew it, buy it new, or rehome it (in good condition).
Non Crafters! You can donate the funds for materials to others with the skill.

SIZES: Infant, toddler, youth & adult sizing.
There are children, sisters, brothers, parents and elderly in need of help, comfort, care and safety.
Let's do the good we can do.
Individually we may not get far, but TOGETHER...together is a whole other story.
↪️We'll be distributing out to shelters, warming centers, churches and other Orgs.
As Midwesterners you know how cold a Chicago winter gets. Let's wrap everyone in some much needed warmth.

No one should live in this type of fear.
I offer what I have to give. A place to come and just be.

I cannot fix it. I cannot change it. I desperately wish I could, my daughter is forced to grow up in this world too.
I don't want this for her. I don't want this for anyone.
I can't take your pain, but I CAN offer you a place to come and just be.
Sit with us. Craft with us. (if it's portable, just bring it)
Bring a book and read with us. Laugh with us and cry with us.
Scream into the void.

Hi everyone, this is Fiona, our new Crochet teacher and Saturday volunteer.
The store is open today until 5pm. (Thank You Fiona)
Fiona is SUPER knowledgeable about crochet, and fairly adept at knitting.

It's been a terribly long week with a STEEP learning curve 😔

Hi everyone. I know we've been quiet this week and I wanted to let you know why.
Abby and I are in the hospital.
We've been here since Monday.
I took her to the ER for what I thought was complications with strep throat.
Tests proved otherwise, and we had to take emergency transport to another hospital with a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Abby has Diabetes. Most likely Type 1.
This little girl, who is my whole world, was attached to 3 IV's and 5 different bags of fluids.
She's been so brave. She's got tiny bruises on her poor little fingers, and devices to monitor everything, plus tests.
Sooooooo many tests.
It's been a long week. 😔
The store is closed for now.
If you need anything, I'll take care of it when I get back.
I'm asking for help with this one, if you can.
I'll put our CashApp, Paypal, Venmo etc. in our bio.
