I honestly wasn’t sure whether I was going to share this.

My amazing employees did this completely on their own. I didn’t ask them to, and if you know me, you probably know how incredibly hard it is for me to accept help — let alone share something like this.

But I also don’t want my discomfort with receiving help to take away from the incredible amount of love behind what they did.

This season of life has been hard, scary and expensive, and I’m doing my best to keep working, keep moving forward and keep being me. Apparently, the people around me have decided that maybe I don’t have to figure out absolutely everything on my own this time. ❤️

There is absolutely no expectation for anyone to donate. Your kind words, encouragement, visits to the shop and love have already meant more to Joe and me than I could ever explain.

To my Awakening crew — I love you guys. You completely caught me off guard with this one. I’m still not very good at being on the receiving end of things, but I know this came from a whole lot of love.

A little personal note from me ❤️

I started treatment on Monday, and if I’m being completely transparent, it has knocked me down a bit harder than I expected. I haven’t felt very well this week, but I’m still here at Awakening Coffee doing my best to keep things moving.

So if you come in and I’m a little quieter than usual, not quite as chatty, or missing some of my normal energy, please know it’s not you. ❤️ I’m just taking things one day at a time and trying to give myself a little grace while my body adjusts.

The shop is still my happy place, and seeing all of you means more than you probably realize — I just may not have a whole lot of social energy to give right now.

Thank you for continuing to support Awakening, for supporting Joe and me, and especially for all the kindness you’ve shown us lately.

I’m here. I’m working. I’m doing my best. And right now, that’s enough. ❤️
