The best part about IDRS is meeting so many customers who visited the original Nielsen Woodwinds and bought their bocal from Dorothy Nielsen. We were so thrilled when Leonard Nielsen, Kaitlyn Nielsen and Greg Nielsen visited our booth. They loved seeing so many Heckel bocals on the table and we can’t be more proud to carry on the Nielsen tradition!

As part of our 2025 Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition we are featuring the bassoon concerto in Eb major RV 483 required for the preliminary round, semifinal, and final rounds.

The name of the competition derives from the rich legacy of composer Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741), who spent much of his prolific career working at a conservatory for young girls, the Seminario Musicale dell’Ospedale della Pietà in Venice.
