This is a long but very important post. Please read till the end.

Well, this is a hard one, and we really don’t know where to start... but first and foremost we want to express our gratitude to all of our customers, communities, vendors and supporters for almost 10 years of sticking with us, shopping, sharing your stories with us, sharing laughs and tears, bringing in your families and friends to introduce them to us and some of you have become an important part of our lives and truly have become family.. which makes this announcement even harder.
Denise and I (Jenny) have decided to move back home to Germany. Wow... the cat is out of the bag. It feels like a huge weight off our chest but also very bittersweet because we absolutely love our store, and we love our customers and community. We know we will probably disappoint some of you, but ask for your understanding.
We had an incredible ride and loved being part of this iconic stores’ history. This decision wasn’t made lightly, but we must do what is best for us and we realized that our homesickness to our family, friends, hometown and Germany in general has been growing over the years and after almost 10 years we feel it is the right time for us to go back home. Phew... I swear our hearts are so happy and heavy at the same time because we loved our time here in the Finger Lakes so much. We have been coming here all our lives to visit family, so this area will always have a special place in our hearts and will always be our home away from home. We will be back to visit for sure.
What is our plan for the store? Our plan is to sell the store as a turnkey business. That said, we hope the new owners will continue with its tradition.
We are planning on celebrating our 10th Anniversary as store owners in July 2025, and if all goes as planned, we will be booking our flights for October 2025. So, we will still be here for a while, but this will most likely be our last fall and Christmas season. Of course, this will all depend on how quickly we find a buyer.
When we opened the doors of this historic store on the 4th of July 2015, we did not know what to expect but everyone was so happy to see the store open again, and with this enthusiasm, we grew year after year. Each year got better, and now our summer, fall, and Christmas seasons have been so super busy. We hope this will continue with the potential new owners. It is our goal to find someone who loves this store and is willing to keep its historic story going with their own twist like we did with our German Corner. We are the 10th owners in the store’s history, and everyone brought a little bit of their own flair to it.

P.S. We will remain open with our regular hours till the end of this year, January winter break, open weekends in February and back with regular hours in March 2025.
