Hey all 👋🏼 We’ve been pretty quiet on here outside of our stories so, a lil update:
End of last year, business was pretty bad, orders were significantly down compared to the years prior, and I was feeling pretty defeated seeing post after post of small businesses on here closing down.
I reeeally didn’t want to be another one of these posts, but I was tired. I started this business as a way of making *additional* income, and I had so much fun with it in the beginning when it was just a lil side hustle. After a lot of reflection and reframing the narrative, I realized the pressure of doing this alone AND as my full-time income was weighing heavily on me. My heart was no longer in it because I’ve just been trying so hard to stay afloat.
Running Pinultimate full-time got me through the pandemic, and I am forever grateful for that. But I missed my career and working around other people.
So early this year, I decided to set Pinultimate back on the side for a while and I found a new full-time job. With a steady paycheck and working on a variety of client projects again with other creatives, I’d hopefully find my spark again. Without so much focus on business finances I could also start to have fun with Pinultimate again.
So all that to say, I’m still here. We’re not going anywhere – we’ve just shifted, for the better, I think.
We’ve still been doing pop-up events around Maryland throughout the year; things have just been slower on the digital side while we figured all of this out.
Thank you genuinely for being here, whether you’re new or you’ve been around for a while. I did consider closing down business, but it’s your reviews and one-off comments about how cool this shop is that keep me going and remind me that, hell yeah – this actually is a really cool shop 😎
