Hello Friends of Earth-2 Comics Northridge,

This is a hard one to write. With heavy heart, Susan and I are announcing that the Northridge Earth-2 Comics location will close later this month. Wednesday May 25 will be our last week of new comics.

If you are a subscriber or regular patron, we encourage you to visit Earth-2 Comics in Sherman Oaks for your comics shopping. We can easily transfer your pull list and will even offer you a 15% discount on your first 3 months of file books in appreciation of your loyalty.

The pandemic has impacted not only the community of Northridge and its beloved University, but also the business of comics: how much they cost, how they are distributed, and how much work is required to get them on the shelves and into the hands of our customers. Having two stores once saved us time and money, but the publishing landscape has become less efficient and more costly, stretching our attention between two retail locations for less benefit.

Our solution: to close Northridge and move all inventory into a new Satellite Warehouse to not only increase our mail order and online presence, but also to generate more fun back issues and merchandise for the shop and its fan-favorite parking lot sales.

The good news: Sherman Oaks and the Satellite are absorbing the staff of Northridge so Kris, Robert and Trisha will continue to be part of our All-Star Team. Kris is the general manager behind all our big sale events so we are thrilled to be able to focus again on those.

We celebrated this year with one Free Comic Book Day at Sherman Oaks with both shop staffs present. Though our plan was already in place, the joy of that day cemented our commitment to focus on a single storefront while working behind the scenes at our Satellite warehouse to prepare our vast collection of back issues and other cool things, and bring more excitement to Sherman Oaks.

We greatly enjoyed the years we spent in Northridge and truly appreciate all the support we received there for the last 13 years. Hope to see you all soon in Sherman Oaks.
