The VP-133 (Patrol Bombing Squadron 133) was a U.S. Navy patrol squadron operating the Lockheed PV-1 Ventura, primarily tasked with maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare, and bombing missions in the Pacific during World War II.
As the war progressed, the squadron supported major amphibious operations, including those surrounding the Battle of Iwo Jima (1945). Flying from forward bases in the Pacific, VP-133 conducted long-range patrols, reconnaissance, and strike missions aimed at securing sea lanes and supporting Allied advances. Equipped with the Ventura, a fast and versatile patrol bomber, the squadron played a role in suppressing enemy positions and providing aerial coverage during the buildup and ex*****on of operations in the Iwo Jima campaign.
The entire Warbird collection is inspired by the work of illustrator Romain Hugault and was developed in close collaboration with him. Each piece reflects his distinctive artistic vision and deep passion for aviation history.
For Barnstormer, working alongside Romain Hugault has been a true privilege and a source of great pride. It is an honor to partner with such a renowned artist, whose talent and dedication perfectly align with our commitment to craftsmanship and storytelling.
This collaboration goes beyond design, it represents a shared vision, where art and heritage come together to create something truly unique and meaningful. https://zurl.co/kiVIJ
