Friends.... we have super sad news! After 8 years in the same location, the property management company that runs the Lees parking lot has decided that a problem that a business in the strip had with their power is due to our freezer and will not renew our lease. We have asked if we can work something out and explore keeping a freezer at a different location (even though it's hard to believe that it's the source of the problem after 8 years...) but they are unwilling to bend. We have LOVED serving the families and all of the sweet kiddos who ride their bikes over each summer. We have also loved employing neighborhood kids who can just bike over to work. It has brought us so much joy to run and hope it has brought your families some summer joy too!
We have looked at other possible sites in case you are wondering. We need a power source to plug into (we had outlets installed in the signage at Lees), we need potable water to run a hose to make ice with and we need a place to dump waste water each day (Empire Chinese had been so generous to let us use their mop drain each year). Along with that, we really love that kids don't have to cross Redwood and can ride bikes or walk over to the shack. SO if you have an awesome idea or hookup to a location that we haven't thought of, please reach out!
Normally right now we are hiring and only a few weeks out from opening, so as of now it looks like we won't open this summer unless something big changes.
