We make casual digs about our umbrellas being better than most…but airborne umbrellas really do pose a safety threat on beaches.

Please don’t use umbrellas with a sharp point and please always follow install instructions for proper use.

According to the Horry County Coroner, Tammy Perreault, 63, of Horry County, was struck and impaled by a beach umbrella that was carried by the wind around 12:40 p.m.
