The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett completely swept me away. Amazingly atmospheric and richly layered, this is the kind of novel you don’t just read — you live inside it. The setting feels vivid and immersive, the characters are unforgettable, and Meg LeFleur has officially become one of my favorite literary characters ever. She is sharp, vulnerable, resilient, and utterly real.
What impressed me most was how beautifully Stockett handled so many complex social issues with nuance, heart, and humanity. The story never feels heavy-handed; instead, it invites compassion, conversation, and reflection while still being deeply entertaining and emotionally engaging. This is a book full of warmth, tension, humor, heartbreak, and hope — the kind that lingers long after the final page.

Hope Rises by David Baldacci is an action-packed, fast-moving read filled with twists, turns, and plenty of suspense. Baldacci does a fantastic job creating a main character who is tough, determined, and capable of making hard choices while still holding onto a strong moral core. That balance makes the story especially compelling and keeps you invested from beginning to end.
As a follow-up to Nash Falls, this novel delivers everything readers would hope for — strong pacing, layered characters, and enough surprises to keep the pages turning. It expands the story in satisfying ways while still leaving just enough unanswered questions to make readers hopeful there could be another book ahead. A gripping and thoroughly enjoyable thriller
