UPDATE: With compassion for our staff and our community, the Shell Factory & Nature Park will be closed today. We will be open Saturday and Sunday, as planned, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our hearts go out to everyone in our area, our state and the country who is dealing with the devastation of this storm.

We look forward to welcoming you to our final closing weekend Sept. 27-29. Weather permitting, we will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Sunday.

Our 4.5-acre Nature Park will be open. Admission is $16 for adults, $11 for children ages 4-12, free for children 3 and under (with a paid adult), $12 for seniors ages 55+ and $11 for military veterans. Ticket sales support the continued care and feeding of our animals as we finalize efforts to rehome animals to approved facilities.

Southern Grill and Tommy’s Outdoor Café will be open with a limited menu until supplies run out.

All remaining merchandise from the Gift Shop is discounted at 40% off, which includes a range of unique gifts, tchotchkes and holiday items.

Please note that for the safety of guests, capacity within our store will be limited and entry may be staggered accordingly. We advise our guests to be prepared for lines for entry and check-out, which may include outdoor waits. We thank you for your patience!

Based on current predictions that the storm should be past the Southwest Florida area by Thursday night, Shell Factory intends to be open as planned for its final weekend, Sept. 27-29 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Please continue to monitor this page for any updates.

We have received many inquiries and generous offers to support the rehoming of our park’s 400-plus animals. We are grateful to be surrounded by a community of people who love our animals just as much as we do.

The Shell Factory is working closely with wildlife officials to secure safe and loving homes for our beloved animals and critters. By law, we must work through the proper channels, including the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the United States Department of Agriculture, to transport and rehome our animals to approved facilities that have qualified caretakers. We are proud to share that this process is well underway, and we will soon be able to introduce you to everyone’s new homes.

After 86 wonderful years of serving the community, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of the Shell Factory & Nature Park. This iconic North Fort Myers destination has brought joy to countless families and visitors since 1938. Our final days of operation will be the weekends of Sept. 20-22 and Sept. 27-29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this time, the Nature Park and Gift Shop will be open and the park’s onsite restaurants, the Southern Grill and Tommy’s Outdoor Café, will serve a limited menu while supplies last. The Fun Park will be closed, effective immediately. We hope you’ll stop by and enjoy our beloved attractions and restaurants one last time.

Pam Cronin, our dedicated owner for the past 27 years, has worked tirelessly to preserve the magic of this historic park, sharing: “This has been an incredibly hard decision, as the Shell Factory has been a huge part of our community and my life. We are so proud of the countless joyous experiences shared here—whether aboard bumper boats, in our nature park, at the mini-golf course, or within our shops and restaurants.”

Over the decades, the Shell Factory has stood resilient through hurricanes, fires, and financial challenges, but with the costly upkeep of an 86-year-old property, we’ve had to make this difficult decision. We are working closely with wildlife officials to ensure the safe rehoming of our 400+ animals and supporting our dedicated employees during this transition.
