Happy Summer!
We had a great time with new friend Declan selecting a combination for his architectural rendering of the local Publix Grocery he and his family shop at. This local artist was articulate, engaged, and had a vision for how he wanted his finished piece to look like. We selected neutral matting, with a dark rustic frame. PERFECT!

Happy Spring! It's a busy time of year here at Tmb's. We've been framing a lot of beautiful pieces that our friends have been creating over the past year. We had the pleasure of working on Tom's acrylic this week. There is such beautiful detail in this painting, that we agreed a clean simple look was best as to not compete with the artwork. A neutral gray tone mat, topped by a high capped black frame really compliments this painting. The piece was finished off with conservation mounting, & conservation non-reflective glass to ensure this piece will be protected & enjoyed for years to come.

Happy Autumn!! We recently had the privilege of framing an original Picasso. It was an amazing experience to be entrusted with a piece like this. We selected a very subdued earthy combination for the matting & filet. For a little textural interest the frame is a wood moulding with a metallic bronze finish. The moulding itself has a very subtle undulation to it that keeps the combination from looking too one dimensional. We topped off the framing with museum glass. We think you'll agree this is a beauty!! If you like what you see SHARE IT!

Congratulations to my husband Tim Eckenroad for celebrating 25 years of service with Charlotte County Sheriff's Office this week! He also served 4 years in the Marine Corps, & 6 years in Florida State Corrections. Some of our customers don't realize who the T in TMB'S is, so I want to give recognition where its due! Law enforcement by day, picture frame cutter extraordinaire by night! Thank you Tim, for all your hard work!

We've had the pleasure of working on several music-centric pieces recently! Here's a couple of our favorites! Anthony brought in a limited edition print for the band Tool that he purchased at a concert he attended in Nashville. Unfortunately the pictures don't show the beautiful iridescence in this print, when you view it from different angles it actually changes colors. We selected a very contemporary & colorful combination to balance with the saturated tones in the print. We finished the project off with a slick black lacquer frame.
The second piece titled "Abbey Road" by Hirschfeld was purchased at a gallery in New Orleans. Sylvia & John wanted to introduce a little color into the piece. Soft green matting & a clean lined black gallery style frame accomplished their vision.

Interesting project of the week! This is a collectable Pearl Jam concert print that was purchased at a performance in Germany. The print has double sided images, & our customer wanted to be able to look at the back side. We selected a white gallery thick beveled top mat with just a punch of red under mat for the front side. The back side we kept very simple with a white gallery mat. The print was secured using conservation methods to protect its value. We used a contemporary silver frame that has just a touch of the same blue gray that is running through the print. Everything was secured between glass on front & back side, & will be hung from mirror loops rather than wire to prevent any pressure points on the glass. Hope you agree this is a great presentation! If you like it, SHARE IT!!

Happy Friday!! As you can see it's a busy time of year at our shop!!! This week's stand out piece is this giclee print "Joseph & Mary Loves Jesus ". We selected a neutral tone thick beveled gallery mat & colorful rustic frame to balance the beautiful saturated color tones in the artwork. Apologies for upside down images! Technical difficulties! We are so lucky to be able to work with such diverse & talented local artists! Ft. Myers High School student Anna entrusted her original linocuts to us this week. Together we selected a neutral gallery style multi opening mat, topped with a rustic natural wood frame that balances nicely with her style of artwork. Anna will be exhibiting her work at The Arts for Act Gallery in March. Make sure to stop in & support our local super talented artists!

We had a lot of fun working on a very unique piece this week! Long time friend Christina wanted to frame an antique cement sack as a gift for her husband. We can ALWAYS count on Christina for a challenge, she is truly a creative genius! The cement sack fabric itself was quite coarse, so to compliment that we decided a fabric mat was a good balance. Christina really wanted a custom look for this special gift, so she provided us with a beautiful piece of tapestry fabric that both coordinated with the art work as well as her decor. We float mounted the artwork on a dark gray contrasting background to highlight the fabric's raw edges. We agreed that the frame should be somewhat rustic, but not too traditional. We selected an iron tone metallic wood that really highlighted the color tones of the textile & custom fabric. To give the hand wrapped mat a more finished look, we added a coordinating filet to its deep bevel. The finished project is perfect!! Thank you again Christina for keeping our framing skills sharpened, & our design perspective broadened!

Happy Friday!! We had the great pleasure of working on a really interesting & treasured project this week. Good friend Sarah has entrusted us with many of her family's keepsakes over the last year. The latest project was a display of Native American arrow heads & tomahawks that her mother found as a child on their family farm in Virginia. Both Pamunkey & Chickahominy tribes were found in this region of the state.
When designing the piece, we agreed we loved the tactile feeling of these artifacts. We decided to mount the pieces so that they could still be touched. The relics were hand sewn onto a raw silk backing, matted with linen & suede, & then reset into a rustic floater frame. We included a description plate, so future generations can appreciate these historical objects.
MANY thanks to Sarah for her confidence in our services, & for continuing to challenge us! If you like what you see LIKE US & SHARE!!

We had the pleasure of framing Betsy Cartney's pieces recently. The paintings are acrylic on watercolor paper. Betsy describes her painting style as abstract. These two lovely ladies are part of a series named " Mother Nature " she is currently working on.
Together we selected a warm tone white gallery mat, topped with a rustic stained simple lined frame. The wood tone of the frame style carries over the nature theme of Betsy's series, while still keeping a clean contemporary look. A great balance for the artwork & series theme. Thanks again Betsy for entrusting your beautiful work to us!

We would like to thank new friend Charlotte for entrusting us with her lovely still life canvas. Charlotte is a member of the Lee County Alliance for the Arts, & her painting will be displayed on various Alliance billboards in Lee County. Together we selected a clean lined silver metallic leaf frame for her artwork. A nice balance with the contemporary style of Charlotte's work, without being too over powering.
If your not familiar with the Alliance for the Arts your missing out! Check out their website for all of the great educational opportunities, exhibits, & other services they offer! www.artinlee.org

Happy Friday! We had a lot of fun working on American Modernist Charley Harper's "Love on a Limb" serigraph this week. Although this is an older print, Harper's unique style remains timeless. We kept the framing very clean lined to balance the artists style of work. A double conservation grade mat of black & gallery white, topped with a high cap chalk finish black frame, & non reflective glass. The capped shape of the frame helps to give the viewer's eye an added perception of depth. This piece is a serigraph, also known as a silk screen so it has beautiful saturated colors with a matte finish, perfect match for a chalk finish frame.Hope you enjoy this as much as we did!

Happy Spring!! Today we thought we would share a personal project with you. Great friend Rich surprised us with a portrait of our beloved Mullet. Long time friends might remember him, he was our shop puppy for a few months. Rich commissioned Ft. Collins, Colorado artist Bri Levine to create this fantastic portrait. Bri absolutely captured Mr. Mullets personality, & we LOVE her whimsical, fun, & artistic interpretation of him. We chose to stack multiple frames on his portrait to add a splash of color. No doubt this portrait will brighten anyone's day!! Many many thanks to Rich, & Bri!!

Had the pleasure of working with local artist Bill Hudson on his original abstract 3 panel. We selected a very contemporary nickel tone frame, and a gallery white mat. We raised & spaced the artwork as well as the paintings to enhance the illusion of depth. A very clean and streamlined presentation keeps the beholder's
interest on the artwork!

Happy Friday!! Its been a busy week here at the shop. Although Christmas is over we thought you might enjoy seeing this beautiful painting that we framed this week. Charlie & Norma honored us by transporting her painting all the way from the Dakotas just so we could do the framing. We selected an espresso tone inner frame with a gold bead lip, & stacked a Florentine gold outer frame on top of that. The rich tones in the painting are really complimented by Norma & Charlie's selection, however the real super star is Norma's masterpiece of her grandson!!
Thanks again for entrusting us with such a cherished piece!!

Welcome back to our snowbirds!! We had the pleasure of working with some seasonal friends this week. Coincidentally both had visited Viet Nam recently, and returned with some amazing art work. Marlene brought in a piece of water buffalo hide cut work embellished with metallic. We backed the hide on green to bring out the amazing detail, and matted it using the black and gold. We finished the piece with a gold frame that mimics some of the design in the art work itself.
New friends Tricia and Yolande entrusted us with a beautiful piece of long stitch silk embroidery. We decided a more simple, traditional treatment was perfect for this delicate needlework. We started with a black linen liner that we topped with a walnut vaneer frame. The colors really compliment the lushness of the silk thread. We certainly agree Viet Nam has some amazing, and talented artists, using some interesting mediums!! Like what you see, SHARE IT!!
