When your daughter asks to “change her American Girl doll corner into a reading nook.” as her Christmas present, you make her a custom sign, hang it in her cozy little corner, and try not to think too hard about the fact that we are officially past the stage of tiny dolls with elaborate backstories and very serious outfits. 🥲

Growing up is bittersweet. At least it involves books.
