I’m in. Anybody else?

Many handspinners get caught by the idea that, once the component threads of their yarns are spun, their work is pretty much finished. But the act of plying is…transformative! Not only does it entirely change the way that the individual strands behave—towards each other and the whole, abrasive world out there—but visual magic happens, as well!

Please come join me on Sunday, May 31 from 1-4 pm at the Weaving and Fiber Arts Center in the Piano Works Mall in East Rochester to discuss best practices for simple plying methods, plus the techniques involved in bracelet- (“Andean”) and chain- (“Navajo”) plying! We’ll learn how to make a Lazy Kate out of materials you have on hand, and talk about more advanced ply structures as time permits! Bring your wheel and any yarns about which you have questions!!
