As we approach five years of being a hand rolled premium cigar retailer in the great state of Ohio, I’m going to reflect on one cigar manufacturer and specifically, one cigar that they produce. The Perdomo 10th anniversary champagne.
First off, where did five years go? Geeesh!!!
The Cigar industry is a small industry, especially coming from the large corporate world that I was a part of for almost 30 years.
Now I know, five years is not necessarily a lot of experience, but I also smoked ci**rs for five or six years before I opened up my own business. So, let’s call it ten years of experience.
Here’s what I’ve learned so far. There are a lot of Cigar manufacturers and there are literally thousands of different ci**rs out there. But there is one company that I believe stands out above all of them. That is Perdomo.
A lot of companies that we purchase ci**rs from have no real commitment to the brick and mortar cigar shop. They just want to sell ci**rs. The what, who, why, where, and when doesn’t really matter.
I truly believe that the heart and soul of this hobby is the brick and mortar store. The lounge, the employees, the walk-in humidor, the interaction and relationships that are built. This is a sit down with a stranger and walk out with a new friend hobby. I literally see it play out almost daily. By far, the most awesome thing I’ve witnessed in this business. It’s real, it’s genuine, it’s authentic. You can’t buy that online.
OK, sorry I got distracted there a little bit. Anyway, having spent time in Nicaragua with a group of friends and colleagues , along with Nick Perdomo, I can tell you this organization is top-notch from top to bottom. A moral compass that the cigar industry would do well to calibrate themselves to.
There’s just nothing fake about them. They are the real deal ! They’re committed to quality and delivering the best possible experience for all of their customers. You! They are also committed to the retailer, like myself, in ways that just doesn’t happen with any other company that we do business with. It’s kind of odd, but they demand that we do things a certain way. And the reason they have these high expectations and demands is ultimately because they care about you, the consumer, that are smoking their ci**rs. They’ve worked way too hard to not follow through on the ex*****on all the way to the point that you put fire to the end of their product. Some may call it micromanaging, but that’s not it at all, it’s about caring that much ! That’s Perdomo.
Come into Cigar 30 and check out Perdomo Ci**rs. They have a huge lineup with lots of different brands and not one of them is anything less than world class hand rolled premium ci**rs.
Might I suggest you fire up a 10th anniversary champagne? I would debate with anyone that the 10th anniversary champagne is and has been for a long time one of the best ci**rs on the planet.
I often get asked what’s your favorite cigar and like most of you I have a bunch of different ci**rs that I enjoy. But there’s just one cigar that I always come back to and that’s the 10th anniversary champagne!
PS- Like myself, Nick Perdomo also served in the United States Navy! Maybe that’s why I’m so biased to Perdomo Ci**rs.
Nah, it’s definitely the stogies!
