Prism People Book Club meets on Friday, June 26th at The Lore to discuss Bury Your G**s by Chuck Tingle.

Description:

Bury Your G**s is a heart-pounding new novel from USA Today bestselling author Chuck Tingle about what it takes to succeed in a world that wants you dead.

Misha knows that chasing success in Hollywood can be hell.

But finally, after years of trying to make it, his big moment is here: an Oscar nomination. And the executives at the studio for his long-running streaming series know just the thing to kick his career to the next level: kill off the gay characters, "for the algorithm," in the upcoming season finale.

Misha refuses, but he soon realizes that he's just put a target on his back. And what's worse, monsters from his horror movie days are stalking him and his friends through the hills above Los Angeles.

Haunted by his past, Misha must risk his entire future - before the horrors from the silver screen find a way to bury him for good.

Prism People: 2SLGBTQIA+ Book Club is a club where we read a rotating array of q***r literature focusing on education, activism and stories. This group meets (typically) on the last Friday of the month at 6pm at The Lore. Due to the sensitive material we discuss, we ask that all attendees be 16 years of age or older.

We already have a lot of fiber spinners in our community, and Kim has really gotten into the hobby as well. We know that spinning can be difficult to bring to our Whatcha Working on Wednesday craft nights because we don’t have enough space to accommodate spinning wheels. So, with some encouragement from our awesome regulars, we decided to create a separate night for folks to bring their spinning wheels, drop spindles, wool-processing tools, and more, so we can all work on turning fiber into yarn together!

We will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm at The Lore! Please note that this is not a class. We do plan on offering teaching nights as well, but for now this is a group that will meet, hang out and spin yarn together.

Space Cadets Book Club meets TODAY at Beer Is Good Brewing Company in Downtown Norman!

Space Cadets: Sci-Fi Book Club is a club where we read a wide array of science fiction books and discuss them. You do not have to buy the book through The Lore to participate (but it's extra awesome if you do!), you can just join us for the discussion! You do not have to have finished the book, though we will discuss the end of the book. You do not have to come to every meeting (dip in and out of different book clubs, come see us once and then not again for six months, do whatever works for you).

Kim's May Zine Spotlight:

Tantrum
by Rachel Eve Moulton

"Tantrum starts out seeming like a pretty standard monster story. Thea is a mother of three but her youngest child is acting very different than her first two. Monstrously different. These difference cause Thea to confront her relationship with all of her children, her husband, her neighbors and friends, and most volatility her relationship with her mother and her past. This book is a short punch to the gut story about motherhood, relationships, and life. This book is not for everyone, please check the trigger earnings but I tore through this story and left fully satisfied."
