Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr. serves as the 15th President of the Alabama State University, his beloved alma mater. His presidency has been defined by a transformative vision rooted in servant leadership, with a focus on fiscal stability, debt reduction, and institutional accountability. Through his strategic plan, FOCUS 2030, the University has expanded educational access, increased enrollment, strengthened student success initiatives, achieved historic fundraising milestones, introduced innovative academic programs, and gained national recognition. The Alabama A&M University Department of Public Safety (DPS) has debuted four new electric vehicles, becoming the first university campus in the state of Alabama to operate an electric police vehicle fleet. The rollout builds on the University’s leadership in sustainability.

The 2026 schedules are out, and if you look closely, the math is mathing. 📈🏈

We took a deep dive into the 2026 calendars for Florida A&M, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, and Tennessee State, and what we found is a masterclass in strategic brilliance. It’s easy to look at a schedule and see just games, but at , we see Engineered Economies.

From FAMU’s genius logistical “Miami Residency” to the $25 million economic impact of the Magic City Classic, our institutions aren’t just playing football…they are anchoring regional economies and funding the next generation of Black excellence.

The unspoken truth? Whether it’s a “payout game” against a PWI to fund non-revenue sports or a neutral-site Classic that serves as a massive family reunion, every date on these calendars is a deliberate move to protect the legacy.

Prairie View A&M University has appointed Sheleah D. Reed as University Transformation Officer within the Division of Strategy and Transformation.
