Today is my 2 yr “Stroke-aversary”!

I have vowed that every year on this day I will make a post about it. In the last 2 years ,I have had 3 people reach out to me and tell me that my stroke post saved them because they did not wait to get help when they started experiencing symptoms out of no where, and they would have had they not read my story!
👉🏻So, this annual post is to remind everybody not to ignore signs of a stroke. Don’t put it off FOR EVEN AN HOUR!!! I had no idea that there was such a time limit when it comes to stroke symptoms. I am very thankful I listened to Ronnie when he forced the 911 call and the hospital visit after I lost speech and use of my right side. It came and went several times over an hour. My life would be very different today if I had not gone to the hospital for immediate treatment and I do not take that for granted.

Although the doctors still do not know exactly why I personally had my stroke in the left side of my brain, I did make better life choices for myself after that day . I had to have a heart monitor implanted under my skin so it can track my heart ( no abnormalities present so far). I have lost 90 lbs ( slowly but surely)and try to go the gym several days a week, and I have stopped adding additional salt to my food ( I was a saltaholic for sure.) Hopefully these changes will lessen my chances of having another, but who really knows🤷‍♀️ So here’s to living another day and trying to live it to the fullest… TRYING not to sweat the small stuff because life is too short and can change in an instant!!
♥️ “It’s fine, I’m fine” IS NOT what you should tell yourself! Go to the ER, you are worth it!
