Hi, friends. I've made the very difficult decision to transition Wild Blue Market to a (temporarily) online boutique, supported by pop-ups and events, at least for the remainder of this year. The plan is to open a brick and mortar again next year, with a bit more space. Growth sometimes means taking what feels like a step back-for perspective & to refocus. SO...after 3 years, I'm in this weird place between getting tearful because seeing my customers/friends literally gives me joy, and looking forward to taking a short breather. Painting more, creating more, getting outside and noticing silly stuff like how leaves look when they're backlit, scheduling lunches with friends, spending a little more time with mom, walks with Scarlett. As you know, on the shop's wall is the Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, Live in the Sunshine, Swim the Sea, Drink the Wild Air. Being a small business owner is my absolute favorite professional endeavor, but it can be all-consuming. I haven't been drinking much wild air lately. Please continue to follow the shop here, on Instagram, and at wildbluemarket.com. I'll let you know when the website is up and where I'll be at pop ups and events. I'm still seeking out and buying things I think you'll love! And I'll be keeping you posted as I go. Your love and support is everything.

Important note: the store hours in July will vary some. I'll be resetting the shop for a few weekend promotions, which will include a Christmas in July (17th & 18th). 🎄I will let you know of any temporary closures and updates through email, social media and on our website. “Just because…”

Something that felt new and so sweet this year -we had a lot of customers finding ways to honor their daughters and daughters-in-law who were mothers for Mother’s Day.
A friend of mine has an expecting daughter-they had an exciting moment yesterday and saw her daughter’s belly move. My friend said this (and I hope she doesn’t mind my sharing):
“It got me thinking… your child can’t love you the way you love them. It just can’t happen that way but if you are lucky enough that love is passed and you get to witness it.
I think that’s what I’m learning about becoming a grandparent. It’s a luxury to see that love passed.” I also want to acknowledge the heaviness that can accompany this day for many people, including some of the dearest people in my life. And for so many reasons. Peace to those who are struggling. Happy Mother’s Day to all the different varieties of nurturers! You make the world brighter and kinder. 💙
