This Journal Making Workshop was a birthday surprise. Everyone each left with 3 handmade books, including a 5-signature journal using handmade papers for a unique cover with pockets. All instruction and materials are included. Open to all ages and experiences.

This is my latest cookbook restoration to be finished at Still Water Bindery. Cookbooks get a lot of wear and tear in the kitchen. Save your special recipes by keeping your family’s cookbooks repaired.

I made a new case covered in red buckram, but kept the original title from the old cover. Repaired and replaced some of the section tabs. And added a pocket inside the back cover for recipe cards and notes per the owner’s request.

A copy of "The Calendar of the Soul" that has been used daily for the last 50 years was in dire need of repair. The pages were mended, the text block was resewed and glued, and a new case was made with new book cloth chosen by the client. And the scraps from a baby quilt were glued on the inside front and back covers as they had previously been.

This tiny book is ready for the next 50 years of daily use.

Now that the sun is out in Vermont ~ and the floods are behind us ~ I was able to hold a private lesson for a student from Boston, MA.

We had a fun four hours making paste papers at Still Water Bindery. Pema got over heated playing ball, so decided the water trough was her mini pool! Other than that it all went according to plan!
