Hi everyone, it's been about 4 years ;)
Two little girls later, I'm finally finding time (sort of) for me to pick up my needles again. Between being mom, and starting up my own skin care business a year ago, life has just been busy!
For those new to my page, welcome! For those who have been around, thanks so much for your support and appreciation of my craft!
I spent the better part of yesterday taking inventory of my yarns and needles. And when you are a knitter, you undoubtedly own everything from really expensive yarn to $1 store finds. It was really overwhelming! But the first thing I decided I need to do is start to tackle some of the projects I bought certain yarns for. Namely the most expensive project I had in queue, Lion Brand's Color Rich Simple Knit Afghan.
This project really caught my eye about two years ago. It calls for about 28 different skeins of yarn, and most of those are now discontinued. I realized, as I was going through my stash, I did not have the purple color I needed, but found and purchased it on Ebay. The afghan is comprised of a bunch of strips knitted individually, then sewn together. I started knitting the first strip yesterday, and now found out I am missing a couple skeins of the other colors. I have no idea why I did not order everything I needed a couple years ago!
But now it's...game on 😂 and I will find the missing yarn to complete this blanket. Stay tuned for afghan progress!
