Do you see those bright purple pops? That’s my signal that it’s time to harvest!

When I can see a few flowers on the plant and the bees start showing up, I grab my sickle and rubber bands and head out to the field to spend a few hours cutting lavender and hanging out with the dogs, who love being out there as much as I do!

AND…our on-site shop will be opening soon!!! Plus we have several fun events coming up!! I’ll be posting a Calendar of events in a few days. Stay tuned!!

Field report 5/8/26

Good morning friends! And happy Friday!

Our field is looking great this morning! The French Fields lavender is already showing a little color, which is at least a week earlier than normal! The newer rows, planted over the last two years, are filling in nicely, with only a few plants lost. The older rows are looking good as well, with minimal plant loss.

I’m spending a lot of time in the field weeding and mowing, getting everything ready so we can open to the public for U-cut for the first time, hopefully mid-June!

I love being out in the field on these cool mornings — just me, a dog or two, birds, and butterflies! 💜

Some Exciting News!

Local friends! We are very happy to announce that starting this week, you will be able to find many Little Lavender Farm favorites at Red Hills Market in Dundee!

Words can’t express how grateful we are to our friends at RHM who have always been so supportive of our little farm — in fact, they were my very first wholesale account, back when we were just getting started!

So if you’re running low on Little Lavender Farm essentials, head on over to Red Hills and enjoy not only their amazing food (the breakfast burrito—*chef’s kiss) and drinks (best barrista in town), but pick up a few lavender essentials and something for your mom while you’re there as well! Win, win, win!
