We truly want to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes after the fire.
While there was definitely heavy damage to the front of our building that will require in depth repairs…we are fortunate that aside from smoke the damage to our computers, desks, parts & appliance inventory, etc seems to be minimal. Our store front is out of commission until further notice, so we won’t be able to accommodate walk in customers as easily.
However we plan to continue to operate our business to the best of our ability. We’ve still got skilled technicians ready to come fix up your appliances, or we can come clean your furnace ducts and/or dryer vents. We also have a small selection of new appliances including Speed Queen, Frigidaire and Electrolux, and access to order pretty much any of their appliances we don’t have in stock! We even have a small selection of refurbished washers, dryers & refrigerators. Best of all - we service what we sell! We’ve had many people ask how they can help us…and to be honest the biggest help right now is supporting this small business by shopping local and encouraging others to do so as well. We know that is a big ask in this economy as it’s hard to compete with the box stores & internet.
Krohn’s Appliance isn’t just another business that popped up, we’ve been around since 1947. It started with the Krohn family as Krohn’s Appliance, then Brian’s step father Carl Freeman bought it from them in 1969 and changed the name to Krohn’s Appliance Center and finally Brian purchased in in 2001 making the most recent name change to Krohn’s Appliance Service. We’ve continued the legacy of great customer service that the Krohn family created, while keeping our business afloat during some of the most challenging economic times. We’ve seen many other small appliance repair shops slowly retire or close up shop, but we have no plans of going anywhere! We love our community too much to do that. ♥️
When you choose to shop local, you are supporting more than just the owner. You’re supporting the growing families of their employees keeping that money within the community, you’re supporting the local youth groups and youth sports that they sponsor, you’re supporting the local festivals and fundraisers they sponsor every year, you’re supporting the many charities they give back to that helps their community, you’re supporting the other small businesses they choose to use over the larger chains, you’re even keeping the taxes local to benefit your community.
Thank you again to the men & women who rushed to get the fire out last night, including moving our appliances to avoid damaging them.
This fire is a setback, no doubt…but Krohn’s Appliance Service will rise from the ashes!
