Our Story
Market Street Soda Works opened in June 2016 and is located in the new Canal Market District of beautiful downtown Newark Ohio. Market Street Soda Works offers a wide selection of over 160 varieties of glass bottled soda from all over the country, as well as a selection of local draft sodas on tap from around the Central Ohio area. Enjoy dinner from some of the finest central Ohio food trucks parked outside the shop, along with a delicious draft root beer in a chilled mug.

As we close out the end of the year, we want to officially say goodbye and a sincere “thank
you“. We’ve had so much fun on this journey! We’ve loved watching your faces, young and old, light up when you saw the colorful selection of glass bottles that filled our shelves. We’ve enjoyed taking you back to your childhood with a rootbeer float. Most of all, we’ve just enjoyed being a part of this great community and bringing a fun business for everyone to enjoy.
To anyone who ever came into our store, liked or shared our social media posts, took time to give us a 5 star review, recommended us to a friend, or bought something from us; but especially to those who made us a regular part of their lives - Thank you!!! Tonight we kick off the Christmas season in downtown Newark! If you’ve never been to the Christmas Bazaar, or the incredible Courthouse Lighting, you have to get yourself downtown tonight. It is purely magical! MSSW open until 8pm with Tortilla food truck until 7pm! Hot Dr. Pepper to keep you warm inside and don’t forget to pick up your pre-ordered Soda Pop Advent Calendar! We opened in 2016 with three goals - To start a family business, to teach our kids how to run a business, and to bring a fun business to the community. After 7 fun seasons of bringing hard to find craft soda pop to the Licking County community, it’s time for us to move on. Our kids are grown, and are (or will soon be) on their own, and we have other interests to pursue. We have had so much fun serving the best rootbeer floats in central Ohio and bringing the area’s best food trucks to downtown Newark. By the end of the year, we will either pass it on to someone else, or close our doors for good. We’ve met so many wonderful people and have enjoyed serving the community. We’d love for you to join us this Friday and Saturday 11/25 (3-8) and 11/26 (12-4) for our special holiday weekend so we can say thank you to our amazing customers! ❤️❤️❤️ Stay bubbly!
