The perfect array on a beautiful day: violets and their companions bursting forth out front; shelves chock-full of good books (and more waiting in the wings); a plethora of kitchen and table accessories; and out back, a glorious spring garden where you (and even I) can sit and read. Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

More about The Heart-Shaped Tin . . . I’m in it! This is my mother, Libby Wrubel Slotnick, and the little red saltshaker that reminds me of her every time I walk into my kitchen. Bee shared our story in her book. In a sweet coincidence, my mother always baked our birthday cakes in a heart-shaped tin.
Please do let me know if you’re coming to meet Bee on Saturday, Nov. 15, 4-6 pm.

SAVE THE DATE! *SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15* Come and meet Bee Wilson, author of the contemporary classic “Consider the Fork” and the forthcoming “The Heart-Shaped Tin”, which explores why some of us have such strong emotional bonds to humble kitchen objects. Raise a glass, talk to Bee, and get yourself a signed book (I’ll have copies on hand). If you like, leave a comment to let me know you’ll be there. Late afternoon, exact time TBD.
