Here is the play test on this gorgeous Mark VI alto that just went up for sale!

Another truly amazing 5-digit Mark VI Alto just came into our sax shop, and it’s in fantastic condition! This one is a 63### serial number that dates back to 1956 where it was hand made in Paris, France. There is so much of its original beautiful dark honey lacquer left on it! This one is American engraved with the matching serial number stamped on the neck. The neck has no pull down or signs of previous damage and the bottom bow is dent free. This is an amazing example of the short bow model Mark VI that sings and really resonates. This one has a well functioning set of pads in it that were just fully combed through by our shop. It is now sealing like a drum top to bottom and ready to gig on!

We’ve seen horns in the 80### range in varying conditions, but this one would be classified as very good, with so much of its original silver plating in tact. This one is a European non engraved. There are no major dings, dents, or scratches. It’s in overall excellent condition, showing only normal signs of wear. This tenor was previously owned by a professional player and was clearly well cared for. The original neck is in AMAZING shape no neck pull-down at all. This horn has a set of older but functioning pads and has been extensively inspected and perfected by our shop. It now seals like a drum and is fully set up and performance-ready. This is truly a remarkable saxophone especially if you are a fan of silver. It’s becoming increasingly more rare to find horns like this in such excellent ORIGINAL condition.

Saxophone fans, check out this great Mark VI that just hit the market! This tenor has a 77### serial number dating to 1958 where it was handmade in Paris, France.

You might recognize this horn from the coming soon section of our website. Originally an American-engraved relacquered model, it was lacquer-stripped during the overhaul process to give it a better appearance and aesthetic. The uniform patina’d brass looks amazing now! This horn also received a nearly full set of new mother of pearl key touches as the old ones were worn to practically nothing. The original serial-number-matching neck is in excellent condition with no pull-down or signs of previous damage and the bottom bow is free from dents. After receiving a full restoration, this tenor is sealing perfectly top to bottom. This is an amazing serial range for Mark VIs.

Saxophone fans, here is the play test on this incredible Selmer New Large Bore tenor!

This tenor has a serial number in the 10### range, dating back to 1929. Because so few of these horns were made—and because they’re becoming increasingly difficult to find—it’s rare to see one, especially in such excellent condition. This example was relacquered quite some time ago, but it has since aged into a beautiful patina. It just came off the bench after receiving a full overhaul in our shop and now seals perfectly from top to bottom. These are some of the best-sounding tenor saxophones Selmer ever made, blending the robust, powerful American sound with the dark, lush character of French made saxophone.
