super proud of this one. 💙

admittedly, trying to carve out time for art lately, with our recent home purchase and my brand new job has been quite the challenge. on top of that, i don’t currently have a true “art space” yet. so while i laid out all my paints and brushes on our kitchen island (swipe for visual) and went to work, my head was full of thoughts of my dream studio we’re creating, where I can spread out and enjoy the natural light flooding in. i couldn’t help but feel inspired about what’s to come and how it will better serve me and my craft—but for now, i’m “making it work.”

this piece, a conjoining of two inspiration photos, seems to suit the moment nicely with its “go with the flow” quality and i am so pleased with how it came out. soft, whimsical, and dreamy. 💙✨

and this, my friends, is what 6.5+ hours of work looks like when sped up 67,000% (yes, literally, 67,000%!!) to create a 20 second time-lapse video. so much work, so little time! 😂🤣

in all seriousness, many of you have asked me to video myself painting from start to finish, and while i’ll admit my phone definitely worked better prior to having 6.5 hours of video content from this piece on there, and while i was also always very apprehensive to capture myself painting (the pressure!), i’m so glad i finally committed to it. to watch it all come to life in such a short amount of time is both humbling and satisfying (and also pretty cool). there is definitely something lost when you see a piece created so quickly, being forced to overlook the ebbs and flows of what ACTUALLY took place during the lengthy process, but perhaps the small glimpse into it is what’s the most fascinating. it forces you to focus on the general formation overall, and not too much on the small things. such is life, i suppose 🙂

this instagram world is really so special. personally, i have been following Inspiralized for years on end. i’ve watched her family, business and lifestyle grow before my very eyes, and have truly cheered for her the entire way. from recipe inspo, (living for zoodles, ask my husband 🤪) to cleaning, product, and general life hacks, to repping jersey through and through, to seeing her go through the process of starting a family (of 3, then 4, then…6?!!). instagram, on its best day, creates a place where you can truly connect and feel inspired by those around you. and ali has done just that for me. having the opportunity to chat with her and incorporate her adorable family into my work was such an honor. so with 2022 off to a running start, i hope to continue to put myself and my work out there and continue to create new pathways within my passion that honestly, i never thought possible before.

closing out the year with what has grown to become two light & line staples: florals and pups! 💐🐶 this client was adamant on a custom commission incorporating his bride’s fresh blooms along with their floral-embellished, adorable canine from their special day—so that’s what i delivered! this piece was 11x14” in size, which, i have to say always loses something when shrunken down into a tiny thumbnail, but give her a zoom and the sweet details come alive a bit more. ☺️

and on that note, wishing you all a wonderful new year filled with lots of special moments, gratitude and love. very excited for what 2022 has in store!
