We specialize in the reclamation of unique architectural antiques from all across Europe and the Med

Ancient Surfaces Headquartered in Europe and the Mediterranean. For the past six years our chief creative restored and designer has been carefully restoring and diligently supervising the piece by piece reassembly of every antique stone fountain, fireplace and entryway we have in stock. She merges her keen eye for design with her scholastic savvy of historical ratios and architectural scaling when restoring or hand carving each of our unique art pieces.

Old wooden door, original ironwork, an
Original stone entryway that's been
welcoming people in long before this
house had an address.

The client didn't come in with a Pinterest
board. She came in with a memory, a
kitchen where the hood over the stove felt
like it had always been there. We didn't
need more than that. We found the Right
Antique Fireplace and Overlaid it on top of
the Range, and got out of the way. She
walked in for the final look and just stood
there for a second. That's the whole job,
really, not designing something new, but
building the thing someone already had in
their head and never had the words for.

Coffee. This balcony. Seven in the morning.
Antique stone surround, jasmine climbing up both sides like it owns the place.
Honestly, you'd never make it to work on time. Some mornings are worth being late for.

Did you know this was hand carved from a single Antique block of stone? This stone tub wasn't designed, it was quarried. No mold, no mass production, just old craft turned into the most dramatic bath you'll ever soak in.

Antique stone pavers around the pool, no two tiles quite the same shade. That's the difference between a poolside that looks installed and one that looks like it's always belonged there.

Look at this living room. What's the first thing your eye goes to? Is it our Reclaimed limestone fireplace, or the Ancient herringbone brick tucked inside it?

You'd sleep well in here and you know it.Raw stone walls, wood beams overhead, anarched doorway open to the garden. Thestone keeps the room cool in summer andholds the warmth in winter, which is
exactly why they built this way for centuries before anyone invented a thermostat.

Just wrapped this one. Two rooms, one story. The carved limestone fireplace up front, the rough stone cladding through the arch, both ours, both cut from the same old-world playbook.Well and the Floors!!

A little preview of what's in stock: antique stone urns and planters, each one salvaged differently. Pick one and it instantly looks like it's been there for generations, because somewhere, it already was.

Client: "I want the whole space light and airy. Nothing heavy."
Also client: "Can the fireplace be a two-ton
hand-carved limestone mantel?"
Us: say less.
