There’s something about this time of year that always makes me start looking toward fall, even though summer isn’t quite ready to leave us yet. The evenings feel a little different, and I find myself thinking about changing leaves, cooler days, cozy homes, and all the beautiful colors that come with the season. I’m really hoping that this weekend I can get up to one of the lakes upstate because I could use a little time surrounded by nature and some new inspiration. I’ve been thinking about creating some fall ornaments, table runners, flags, and banners, and I know being out among the trees and water will probably spark even more ideas. Sometimes I think the best inspiration comes when you simply step away from everything and let yourself look around. There’s just something about cats and fall that feels like they belong together. I’ve honestly been trying to keep pushing ahead the last few days, even though I hurt my back, and I’m definitely learning that sometimes you have to slow down a little and listen to your body. I’ll be okay, but it has made me realize just how much I try to fit into a day between working full time, family, my home, my three boys—who happen to be cats and seem to think they are very important supervisors 😂—and running my art business. There never seems to be quite enough time in the day, but I’m still grateful that I get to spend part of my time creating things that I love. I have so many ideas for fall already floating around in my head, and I’m looking forward to bringing some of them to life. 💚 What’s something you’ve been trying to keep moving forward with lately, even when life gets in the way?

There’s a special kind of beauty in the quiet side of winter. 🤍

The world gets covered in snow, the trees become silhouettes, and even a simple corner of the yard can feel like a scene from an old storybook.

🌾🍎 Every Mabon, I have one tradition that is especially close to my heart.

I create a small harvest blessing for the people I love.

Nothing complicated — just seasonal things that remind me of autumn: an apple, a little bundle of herbs, a candle, a flower, or something from my garden.

As I put it together, I think about the person receiving it and silently offer a blessing for their coming season.

For some, I ask for peace.

For others, strength.

For someone beginning something new, I might ask for courage and good fortune.

And for the people who have had a difficult year, I simply wish for lighter days ahead. 🍂

I love this tradition because it reminds me that blessings don't have to be grand ceremonies.

Sometimes a blessing is simply taking the time to say:

“I see you. I appreciate you. And I hope the season ahead is kind to you.”

That, to me, is a beautiful way to celebrate Mabon. 🌙✨
