INEC to Mobilise 1.4 Million Corps Members for 2027 Polls
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to deploy over 1.4 million members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as ad hoc staff for the 2027 general elections.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, disclosed this during a visit to the NYSC headquarters in Abuja, where he emphasized the critical role corps members play in Nigeria’s electoral process.
According to him, the commission will require 707,384 corps members for the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for January 16, 2027, and the same number for the governorship and state assembly elections on February 6, 2027, bringing the total to 1,414,768 personnel.
