Our gold jewelry orders are shipped in unique concrete jewelry boxes, filled with organic cotton batting and topped with reclaimed wood. Each box is handcrafted by EMBLM co-founder Emily. Our box tops are made of sanded and finished Ipe wood, left over from a 90s deck construction project at EMBLM co-founder Mariko’s childhood home. Although making our own boxes is time consuming, we love knowing that they can be reused or recycled in whatever way you see fit, and are less likely to fill a landfill.

Also, hey LA friends! Did you know that we’re happy to recycle your gently used EMBLM jewelry boxes? Simply dm us if you have accumulated more than you need and we will send you a shipping label or arrange for pickup. 🫶🏻 The boxes in this video were collected over the years by our longtime supporter and friend , and were recently donated back to us so they can be repurposed. 😌

Time for a mineral feed cleanse!

There’s nothing like nature’s wonders to serve as a reminder that we are tiny grains of sand existing within a much bigger and older picture than our human brains are able to comprehend on a daily basis. 😂

After living in awe of everything at the Tucson Gem Show, there were definitely some mineral withdrawals once back in LA. Fortunately, our Natural History Museum has an absolutely incredible mineral show up right now!

Whether you’re an LA local or planning a visit sometime between now and April 18th, we highly recommend leaving an hour or so for Unearthed: Raw Beauty (neighborhood foodie tip, the line for was worth it!)

Here’s a list of these specimens in order of appearance:

1. Silver (what?!!)
2. Gold (mined in California!)
3. Copper (drooling)
4. Bronze (pure art)
5. Ideas anyone? (didn’t write this one down but look at that hue!)
6. Azurite with Malachite (3 MILLION YEARS OLD 😱)
7. Green Fluorite on Milky Quartz (only 120-160 million years old, so basically new)
8. Calcite with Manganese Inclusions (demonstrating fluorescence)
9. Stibnite (Iron Throne vibes)
10. Calcite and Amethyst (aging myself but this reminds me of the cube Evie used to contact her alien dad in Out of This World)
11. Stibnite (different angle bc it deserves it)
12. Pyrite (coming in at a casual 85-110 million years old)
13. Celestine in shale (this piece is HUGE)
14. Spessartine Garnet in Smoky Quartz (gimme)
15. Florite in Quartz (Gushers)

Well, we think it’s fair to say 2025 was a year. We collectively and individually made it through some high highs and some very low lows. We experienced births and deaths, trudged through feelings of pain, rage, hope and joy with the same fervor, and experienced an abundance of transformative growth. The kind of growth that feels impossibly hard in the moment but reveals countless gifts over time. We’re so grateful for the quiet moments of creative exploration we intentionally made space and time for. Ultimately, despite it all, gratitude is the takeaway. 𖣠

When we say we’re a small business, we mean it. It’s just the two of us and the very small and beloved team of artisans we work with. Running a small business that matches our values amid a sea of corporate behemoths is no joke. Focusing on quality over quantity is a choice. Making our concrete and reclaimed wood jewelry boxes by hand (shoutout to Emily) is a choice. Avoiding plastic and single use packaging in our shipments is a choice. Shipping our wholesale orders in those little baggies that may not be chic but are biodegradable is a choice! Having our own business gave us the ability, for the first time in our lives, to make business decisions that we can personally stand behind. ❁𐦂𖨆𐀪𖠋❁
