One can say that Indian Royal Sweets is a product of the COVID-19 lockdown, a positive side effect of COVID.
Suneel Makhijani has already been an FMCG & Food Specialist with links to Amul, Parle, Unilever, MTR, Shaan, and many more for over 25 years. He has had the opportunity to travel extensively in the USA, especially in areas that are saturated by Indians. Suneel has always been a keen observer, and so he observed that there was a lack of fresh Indian sweets (mithai) although there was a huge demand. He was inspired by the consumer behavior and purchasing habits of Indians in the United States, but he didn't act on it until he met Vandana Kumar on a Zoom Singing platform in New York.
Suneel shared his brilliant idea with Vandana which sparked a new level of energy in her. She immediately started taking action by contacting sweet manufacturers from her childhood hometown of Indore. Luckily, everything came together perfectly, and it turned into a serious business plan that gave birth to Indian Royal Sweets.
Vandana Kumar is the first Indian woman entrepreneur in the USA who started this conceptual business of importing fresh Indian sweets, (mithai) supported by Suneel Makhijiani. Because of her involvement in hundreds of social groups, she began offering fresh sweets to the members of these groups and received a positive response. The response was so huge that Indian Royal Sweets is now importing over 1.5 metric tons of mithai by air.
