Cinderblock People We are closed as of May 2022. We also have disco, funk, boogie, ambient, experimental, rock, latin, and more.

The mission of Cinderblock People is to carefully select vinyl records and cassettes across the genres that we know best and align them with the needs and tastes of Harlem:

Soul | Jazz with an emphasis on the New York titans from the renaissance era to 60s blue note, and the working musicians of today. House | Techno from classic Paradise Garage and the early days of Detroit & Chicago, to the bur

geoning Brooklyn scene of today - the groove that makes the party move. Dub | World from the unmistakable Jamaican sound pioneered by the likes of King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry to newly unearthed gems from the far reaches of Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Hip | Hop it started here, end of story - proud and loud, we'll keep it alive by stocking the classics and providing an outlet for today's up and coming lyricists and beatsmiths. Our shop's value-add services will include vinyl to MP3 transfers and rentals of our DJ set-up for aspiring and established DJs to record their sets directly to computer at an hourly rate.
