The Details: The things that make a space feel like something are never the obvious ones.

It’s the fabric draped over a chair that was never meant to be there but now couldn’t be anywhere else. The object on the shelf you’ve walked past a hundred times and still notice. The light at a certain hour that makes everything look like it was always supposed to be this way.

When we redesigned the showroom, we wanted every corner to feel considered — not decorated. That meant working with people who understood the difference, and sourcing things with a life already in them. Thank you to all the creators, curators and talented people involved.

Five years of living and working in the same sunlit apartment on East 70th. It has always felt like mine — but this year, it finally became what I always saw in my head.

That doesn’t happen alone.

To Britt Zunino of , who understood the assignment before I could fully articulate it. To , who styled every corner like she’d lived here too. To , who photographed it all with such tenderness. To for making our bathroom more magical than you could imagine. To my team and family for letting me make curtains, cushions and pillows. And to and , for seeing something worth sharing.

Before there is ever a sketch, there is a fabric. Usually something I’ve been sitting with for months — an Italian brocade, a painterly floral, a jacquard nobody else wanted — sourced as leftover yardage from the mills that supply the great houses.

All that beauty, rolled up in a warehouse somewhere. It stays with me.
The whole idea of ONE OF started there. Not in spite of the constraint, but because of it. You can’t mass-produce something that only exists in twelve yards.

The new showroom, reimagined by Britt Zunino of , styled by , and photographed by — is an extension of exactly that. Everything here was chosen with intention.
