For this dressing room, designed by Cullman & Kravis Associates, Miriam Ellner used strapwork for each panel to give the design a structure that unifies the many panels involved. The designs were all executed in lemon, moon, and white gold leaf, both oil and water gilded with soft blue polychromes.
From Golden Glass: Verre Eglomisé, a book that brings the reader into the glittering world of Miriam Ellner, the foremost practitioner of verre églomisé, the ancient process of gilding precious metals on the reverse side of glass, etching in a design, and setting it off with color.
