Dear friends stopped by this week to view some of my tissue prints here in person, and this one ended up being a favorite!! Here I mounted the tissue onto canvas where I had previously painted a background. Then I enhanced the grasses and also added more dark wispy ones in the foreground!! I am always grateful to hear what others may like about my work! Thank you all for your comments and encouragement.. it means a lot to me! Have a great weekend!!

As you can see, I did two of these tissue prints using the same colors and flowers. I wish I could fully remember the process!!! HAHA!!! I usually work fast when I get at it, and I never take notes. That would make too much sense!!! I love this color combination, and as you know from following me, I love bright colors. They really pop on a neutral background. I love nature and really try to take advantage of what it has to offer in my painting inspiration, as well as actually using pieces of botanicals! Each print framed is 16”x20”, selling for $200. Life is good. Happy Wednesday!

This is a tissue print done in a new way!!! It is named “Chrysanthemum”, as I used some mum flowers to pull off the paint in the background where the image of flowers is evident! Then after pulling it off the gelli plate I also dipped the flowers into the orange paint and dabbed those over the top, finishing it all off by painting in the leaves and stems. Can’t wait to try this again using more botanicals!!! This will be on display during my 4 Pillars Gallery showing, and I have included the information regarding that! Happy Monday!

It’s always a joy to help out in this way!

Wouldn’t it make you smile to receive this card in the mail? Here I used one of Beam’s metallics called Lake Superior. I used a clean brush with water to “paint” the petals, and then touched some color in just the right places for it to spread all over in that petal. After dry, I outlined - messy, I might say - the petals with a lovely acrylic ink. Again, after dry, I added the Beam metallic Wet Grizzly to the center! I do love what I do . . . can you tell??? My original cards, as is this one, are for sale at Inspired, Graze, The Grand Center for Arts and Culture, Bad Ass Beebout Bouquets, and New Ulm’s Own, as well as by just contacting me for a visit to my studio! They are all $5 each, and all profits are donated to either NUMAS Haus or the Ivy House. Happy Wednesday!
