For those who don’t know, this is my child Cali - She is my soul dog. She’s been my sidekick and best friend for the last 12 years. We’ve been all over the US together. Time is going by too quickly and her body is catching up to her age. Now that we are coming to the final stretch before opening, it was time to bring her to the shop for the first time. Now that she’s here, somehow this place feels even more perfect than it already does.

Since we made the decision to open this place, I’ve been counting down the days until I could have her here with me. She loves all the attention and pets you have to give so if you ever see her in here with me, she’s ready and waiting for your cuddles!

We are 5 days away!! How is that even possible?

One second, I’m out on a morning date with Ashley, the next we are standing in front of a building that, little did we know, would soon be ours. From what we thought would be a distant dream, quickly became a reality when we least expected it. We weren’t prepared in that moment to make this drastic decision in our lives, but we knew we couldn’t let this pass us by.

Starting a business is terrifying, no matter how big or small. It’s expensive, especially in today’s economy. It’s a huge leap toward the unknown and pouring your heart and soul into something with absolutely zero guarantee of success. If I’ve learned anything during my time here on this floating rock, it’s that failure only comes when we stop trying. When we stop showing up for ourselves and what makes us happy. When we stop fighting for the things we believe in.

In such a short time since announcing our store, we’ve grown over 4,000 new friends here and have just been absolutely engulfed with love and support from our family and friends. We don’t take that for granted and will never be able to explain just how much it means to us to be seen and encouraged to chase our dreams. Thank you for being here.

Still a lot to finish up but we made some really good progress today! Shoutout to my friend Lauren who came and helped me knock some stuff out for a few hours while Ashley ran errands.

I have been made aware that there is a scam page going around with our business info and messaging people saying they’ve won the giveaway. I have NO idea how that is happening or who is doing it but it is NOT us. Please do not open any links, messages or anything from this account. These just arrived last night and look how beautiful! They will look even better in here once we have plants hanging in the window with them.

These will be for sale and ready to take home with your new books & plants when you come see us! Everything that we will have for sale (besides our books and plants) will all be made by either Ashley or I personally or from other small businesses.
