Four varieties of special eggs (English Cream, Peanut Butter Mousse, Dark Chocolate, and Lemon Poppyseed), one special box (Cottontail Collection!) with all the eggs and our springiest caramels, and two bunnies (Dark Choco and PB Mousse filled)— and YES matzo toffee is coming soon.

Our Thanksgiving special chocolate offering is available in both shops and online (super small quantities there and once it’s sold out, it’s sold out!). 10% of sales from each box benefit where these photos were taken (yes I AM going to mention again that there is a chicken there named for me and yes Rachel from the sanctuary had to help hold her for this photo because she is the wildest). The boxes have beautiful art by and sport our most lovely seasonal chocolates:

The last staff collection of the summer is upon us and it’s a great one. Here’s the intel straight from lovely Lee!

Hey! I’m Lee, one of the faces behind the counter at Confectionery! This collection celebrates my favorite things, including a brand-new piece inspired by my favorite cocktail, the French 75. There’s an apple caramel (had to—I’m an autumn baby), a peanut butter cup and smoked tahini bar bite (for my fellow salty-sweet fiends), a chocolate caramel and dark chocolate heart (got nervous there wasn’t enough chocolate), and the two pieces that made me fall in love with Confectionery, the furious v***a and rosemary sea salt caramel.

And! $3 from every box will go to .formative.schools, a local nonprofit close to my heart that’s changing the lives of trans youth in NYC through initiatives like their free afterschool program for trans, q***r, nonbinary, and gender expansive students ages 9–15.

I love the East Village, I love being a part of this neighborhood for so many years, I love our business’ commitment to ethical chocolate, and I hope YOU love this collection.

Mango Chile Lime caramels, our ode to West Coast fruit carts (and the mostly immigrant cooks who make them 👀), are around for just a few more weeks. A tropical caramel with lots of mango purée, tajín, and lime (plus a little cayenne), enrobed in dark chocolate and dusted with tajín and sea salt.

Picking up the first batch of prune plums at to process and freeze for…..do you know?

I’ve started getting inquiries for our chocolate shipping timeline. And I’m not sure how to put this so I’ll just say it………..we most likely won’t be shipping again until mid-November. And when we do it will be super small batches.

I’m sure every beloved small indie business you follow is whinging on about How Hard It Is. And guess what? Us too! Destructive consolidationist top-down capitalist practices have taken their toll on small businesses who aren’t trying to get huge, who would have guessed!

But honestly? We’re ok! Holding steady by being smart. We’ve been working so hard for 22 years at this point and we’ve figured a few things out. Part of that is diversifying our income streams, which means *some* shipping, but not enough that it becomes a huge part of the business. Hard to explain without going into 5-year plans and strategic maps yadda yadda but anyway — one big reason we don’t want to stop shipping is because YOU reading this are the reason we’re surviving right now. We’ll be here for ya. Just…in a bit! Hold on tight.

If you’ve come to the shop within the last two years, you’ve most likely talked with me about bunnies, “Noel’s Ark” (essentially my petting zoo of animals) or the Jersey Shore. I wanted my box to reflect two themes that best represent me: Ocean City (where my family is from) and the bunnies that helped lead me to Lagusta’s Luscious.

I drove three hours for my interview at this vegan cafe in June 2023. I relocated to New Paltz with two of my bunnies shortly after scoring my dream job. I wanted to offer two tokens of my appreciation to the place that raised me: aka two chocolates! The white chocolate heart had to be made into a seashell to represent a big part of my heart. The fudge is also a reference to my favorite treat from the boardwalk– specifically, the chocolate peanut butter fudge!

The little details in the box are references to my two best friends who completely changed my way of thinking, and ultimately my life. From the strawberry balsamic referencing Ang’s ruby red eye color, to the strawberry almond cream (strawberries are both of their favorite treats!) and the fluffs symbolizing two cottontails, I wanted to cultivate a box of the most delicious chocolates I’ve ever had. The two limited edition pieces include the Raspberry Fluff Cup and Peanut Butter Fluff. 

I wanted to give back to the buns in some way, so that’s why three dollars of each box goes to . The mission of HRS is to teach about proper care, rescuing, and rehabilitating bunnies. Rabbits are one of the most exploited animals on the planet, hence why most cruelty free products incorporate a bunny symbol.

Angus and Theo were the reason why I went vegan and cruelty free. It’s incredible to think about the amount of animals that have been spared, statistically speaking, thanks to the boys. Being vegan can save approximately 100-200 animals per year.

I sincerely hope that all of you enjoy my collection. Whether you have a bunny of your own, are gifting it to an animal lover, or really just love the rosemary sea salt caramels and peanut butter cups like I do, I hope that you remember the impact that one person – or anybunny – can have.
