In 2008, Margot & the nuclear so and so’s unveiled the product of their long Chicago Winter. “Animal!” and it’s label favored sister album, “not animal” were given birth to quietly but got to roaring in the subsequent years that followed. Prohibit-ably expensive collectibles when the LPs could even be found, the nukes sophomore albums have grown in cult status in the decade following their release. We are pleased to announce the ten year anniversary reissue series of those long out of print LP’s, on colored vinyl, with expanded gatefold artwork featuring never before seen photographs and a new essay by Richard Edwards.
And that’s not all! For the ten year anniversary we are also thrilled to announce the previously unreleased vinyl only LP “Vulgar in the chapel: the animal!/not animal demo recordings” on limited colored vinyl.
Recorded at home and in the nukes warehouse studio, “vulgar in the chapel” offers a unique contrast to the aural onslaught present on “animal!” and “not animal”. This collection of never before released demo recordings sees the sonic bombast stripped down to just Edwards and his acoustic guitar, offering a more intimate glimpse into the songwriting process behind Margot’s cult sophomore albums. Includes 2 never before released songs.
