i’m making patches again!!! starting off small. have an idea for a new orleans water meter next.
i’ve missed creating like this, ive missed the joy of seeing others with patches i created sewn onto their favorite bag.
i’m working 2/3 jobs right now. bills are tighter than ever, debt is drowning, but still i persevere

any support helps a lot right now!!! i still have some stencils i might make into patches again but undecided 🛐

posting this to try to hold myself accountable 🛐 lol here are most of my W.i.P. bags (the ones that were easy to picture and mostly done) so many of these started 2017-2019 and i haven’t touched them besides a few stitches here and there. mostly all hand stitched (my preferred method) i’m slowly trying to go through the pile to finish and post them on kofi.

bottom right is the one i’m working on (gray with green blue face, other side has a red and coral color face) all it needs now is a strap since i topstitched it yesterday 🛐

slowly adding art to kofi! took pictures of many pieces a few months ago and trying to hoard spoons to list them 🫡 trying to find small ones to list too bc so many are huge lol

thank you all for the continued support 🙏 recently gave away the last of my patches and it’s a mix of relief and grief. this patch business got me through so much and it’s weird not having it to fall back on (in many ways) 🛐
at the same time it’s been helping me focus more on my personal art and writing. healing is hard and i realized i don’t know my own emotions or how to even start to process them, my social worker has been a Godsend 🙏🙏🙏

we did the thing!!! yesterday was truly a perfect day. legal wedding papers at 2pm then celebration with friends and vows in the evening. we poured milk on our foreheads while a christmas tree burned. the cake fell 4 times on the way to the end of the world, tasted like it fell from heaven.

the end of an era 🙏 thank you for these great 9 years selling my creations online. i really loved making patches and sending them out and seeing folks wear them and all that good stuff 🛐 the support during this time (especially since end of 2022) truly got me through so much 🫡 now it’s time to get back to myself and focus on art and healing and stop being a business. 🔆
i have a full time bakery job rn. life still wild and chaotic, but taking the steps i need to to get to the path i need to 🙏

the Etsy i’ve had since 2015 is closing tonight.
it will be on “vacation mode” for the month of January in case people have troubles with their orders from this month. the store will be permanently closed February 1st 2025.

though i’ll still be on kofi, i may not be very active on it. have a lot of healing to do and started a full time job at a bakery last week.
hoping to add the many paintings my wife i have to kofi for sale. also have so many unfinished bags and works of art i haven’t touched in years. but first need to get back in touch with myself.

being able to have this shop for so long making patches i’m proud of has been the greatest blessing. it’s hard to say goodbye, but it’s the right time.

i’ll be taking a break from social media. i’ll try to make an actual post for that, but even doing this post took a lot out of me.
